I was playing Wii at my friends place the other day, and when we where finished with all the normal games he asked me if I seen the shopping channel on Wii, I was like whats that?. And basically its a channel where you can buy old Nintendo games and play them on your Wii, like NES, SNES, Sega Mega Master games. Amazing! And you can use your visa card directly to buy “points” to shop for. Remarkable smart idea. Never knew that it existed for Wii.

So the rest of the evening we played Ice Hockey to NES with the “frictionless puck” cheat enabled, so the puck just bounce all over the hockey rink.  Awesome!

Note to self

When in Sweden, you can’t buy alcohol in a normal store, just the beer with 3.5% in it. So stop standing around in the store looking like a bafoon. Also, remember that you can only by alcohol, booze, beer and wine in, (prepare to read a really long word now, and try to say it 3 times fast) government-controlled-alcohol-distribution-stores, aka Systembolaget.

Sweden is cold

Being outside too long in 20 – 10 degrees makes your eyebrows not move anymore and your ears hurting. But the meatballs makes it worth it.

How to be “on call”

December 19th, 2007 | Comments Off | Posted in Development, Work

This morning, because of the jet lag I woke up at 5 am. Promptly I booted up my computer and started checking work emails and responding to them, because of the emails I had to look at some code, so I had to boot up my development machine in VMware.

To make sure that I could do development work from Sweden, I made a snapshot of our development VMware machine we use at work (this was of done at a earlier stage), put it on a external HD, relocated the SVN directories, edited my host file to resolve the development addresses to my VMware machines IP and I was up and running it took around 30 min to get everything setup.
